Handcrafted drum masterclass

Kopli 93 music month invites you to a handcrafted drum masterclass. Three masters, three drums, three days of madness!

Every masterclass participant gets:

* a three-piece drum set
* the three masters' secret woodworking and drumming tips
* free entry on the third day to the improvisation ensemble "Supermjäu Airlines" jam night, together with your new drums.

The drum set includes three plywood drums with especially good sound and special fittings for connecting the drums to each other. If you wish, you can also make drumsticks with felt padding. After the second day's finishing work, there will be a joint drum lesson guided by all three masters. If you wish, on the third day you can continue the finishing work and in the evening take part in the joint jam with your newly finished drum.

The masterclass is led by workshop master and musician Andre Pichen, raga singer and djembe player Taavi Ram, and power-chant-blastbeat-sauna-elder Rauno Vaher.

Previous woodworking experience is not required. All the necessary materials, tools and other equipment are waiting on site – dress comfortably and be ready to get messy! If you have a specific paint colour you'd like to cover your drums with, bring it along!

Tea, coffee and snacks are provided on site, and by arrangement also a lunch break.
